Canada Trip 2005

On June 30, 2005 My daughter Kim and I left Knoxville, TN and flew to Portland, ME. We arrived late to Portland due to the weather being foggy. We then went to Brunswick, ME to see the Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Museum. Since I am a Civil War buff, I stopped by this museum. Chamberlain won the Medal of Honor for his action Battle of Gettysburg. Then visited his grave site nearby.

The next day we left to go to Canada. We stopped by the Double Eagle II Hot air balloon launch site in Presque Isle, ME. This was the first successful hot air balloon flight that crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1978.

We arrived in Canada to visit my parents and preach at New Grace Assembly of God in Edmundston, New Brunswick and then over to Madawaska, Maine at the Calvary Baptist Church. We then left my parents to cross the longest covered bridge in the world in Hartland, New Brunswick. Then we went to Saint John, New Brunswick to visit my brother Ken who was involved in a very serious motorcycle wreak last year. We enjoyed a jet boat ride on the Reversing Falls in which they have the highest high tides in the world. (65 feet)

After a few days in Saint John we left to see my brother Mike in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We visited Peggy's Cove and then visited the Swiss Air 111 Crash site. It was the site in which the jet tried to make an emergency landing in Halifax Airport but the fire was so intense they crashed off the coast of Margaret's Bay. After we drove to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to take the CAT Ferry to Bar Harbor, Maine.

We then visited my brother Ted and his family in Saco, Maine and then the next day took a jet back to Knoxville, TN. We has a great trip!!! Here are some pictures of the trip.............

Here is a picture of Joshua Chamberlain's grave Sign of the Double Eagle II Launch Site. Actual launch site of the Double Eagle II near Presque Isle, Maine.

JOHN 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
